What would the Framers think?
Do you know who Emma Lazarus was? In 1883 she wrote a poem, and I would guess that many of you know at least part of it. You may even recall learning it as lyrics to a song as it was indeed set to music. Ms. Lazarus penned the poem as a way to rise money. Before I tell you for what, here is her poem titled: New Colossus "Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame, With conquering limbs astride from land to land Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles.
