Warning: Political type post
Let's get this out of the way. I am most definitely NOT a republican. Once upon a time I tended to be more centralist. Unfortunately centralists seem to be an endangered species.
Because I call out 45 often, I've actually been told I should 'pray for him', Support him because he's our president' and 'you should leave the country'.
Recently I've been, shall we say barraged, by individuals who feel as though I've been following 'fake news' apparently because I don't embrace their own point of view. With sources cited to support my position, they typically respond with off topic meme's or degenerate into name calling.
I do not subscribe to Breibit, Sean Hannity, Alex Jones or Fox News.
I do obtain my information from a variety of sources. Those sources are typically Washington Post, NYTimes, The Hill, Huffington Post, Mother Jones, Wall Street Journal, ABC, NBC, CNN, Vox, New York Magazine, Rolling Stone, The Raw Story, Newsweek, Time and more.
I typically use Fact Checker, Politifact and Snopes to verify information along with my own searches on the web.
If I find merit in a story on facebook from a reputable source I do share it. I often share blogs that make sense. The blogs I tend to read are among the reputable ones who do some fact checking before writing, but I admit they are left leaning in their opinions.
I also share memes. Some simply because they are hysterical and others because the meme just says it so well.
Going back to my opening paragraph- we need more centralists. McConnell recently stated that if the republicans couldn't get the health care bill repealed/replace that they would "have to work with democrats".
I have many issues with McConnell, but I have even more issues with that statement. "Have to work with democrats"? This has been McConnell's mind set for at least the last 8 years- He views working with the other party as being distasteful, something to be avoided at all costs, including the American Public he was sworn to represent.
It isn't only McConnell. It seems to be all members of Congress current mindset. If they don't start working together, it will be us, the everyday American Public that will loose.
We are already loosing with 45 in office. His administration is in chaos. Numerous key positions still have not been filled. He has rolled back numerous protections for clean water and clean air. He is looking to open our public lands to strip it of its minerals, all in the name of big business.
For those individuals that can't see past the lies and continue to support this agenda, you probably should expand your horizons beyond one or two sound bites or questionable news sources. If the World can see 45 for what he is, you should be able figure out that he is dangerous to our country.
