15 weeks

Week 15, where am I?

In the beginning of this journey, my goal was simply to loose weight. I have approached this from various ways, as some of you will know, and have not found anything that I could stick with. Jenny Craig, KETO, Pineapple...you name it. I even did several versions of Weight Watchers, all to no avail.  Why? Because I found them too restrictive or to costly or both.

So, I decided I needed to approach the issue from a different angle. I have decided to view it as a job to loose weight. At work, you need to follow the rules and protocols and do you job.  Using this perspective, I again sought a weight loss program.  Weight Watchers new program came up on my radar and I decided to give it a shot again and got in on a six month special. A Win off the back.

Over the last 15 weeks, I have seen my weight drop, almost effortlessly. Yes, it is work to plan, but as the weeks have gone by and I see the weight coming off, it has become easier to stick with the program and follow the 'rules'.

And the rules are easy. Basically only 2. Stay within your point balance each day. Count all your points.

There are no restrictions beyond those two.  Simple. A piece of cake (and yes I have cake, and  count it!)

I've learned that I can, and do, make changes to my lifestyle based upon how many points I want to spend on any given food.

As I've dropped weight, I have become more energized. Wanting to get up and DO something.

I have rediscovered walking. I've joined a Zumba class and have signed up for Tap dance classes too (something I always wanted to try but didn't have the courage too.) I have gone back to horse back riding and found a place where I can take up lessons again.  I have even picked up a pair of cross country ski's to start skiing again this year.

I have lost 25 pounds and 20% of my starting body weight. I still have a long way to go, but the path is shorter now than 15 weeks ago.

Who is it that said, that the longest journey starts with a single step?
